2024 Education Evening
Dr. Michael Strong be in Windsor on Tuesday, September 24th and spoke at our office where he shared the recent research breakthrough in the quest to understand, treat, and potentially cure amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Thank you to all who attended.
2024 Research Update
In Brain, Volume 147, published in June, Dr. Strong and his team documented that targeting an interaction between two proteins present in ALS-impacted nerve cells was able to halt or reverse the disease's progression. Western News documents more details in their May 13th article, and the Temerty family's Temerty Foundation is investing $10M over 5 years to help translate Dr. Strong's research into potential clinical trials. We continue to support Dr. Strong's research with a recurring endowment for student researchers, and by providing funds for tools like the Lecia SP8 confocal microscope, which was among the tools utilized in this research.
